Are you off work with an ACC injury and not sure how to get back into the workplace? Or an employer with staff who are off work with injury? Or an employer who would like consistency with who delivers their stay at work programs with ACC?
We deliver fully funded ACC programs, collaborating with employee and employer to develop and implement planning around returning to work post-injury. This often includes appropriate rehabilitation in a home or gym-based setting, dependent on work tasks.

PELVIC HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY
Issues or injury arising from in and around the pelvis can be severely debilitating and greatly affect quality of life.
Continence issues (bladder and bowel), pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, or back or hip pain that won’t resolve with regular physio can all hugely benefit from pelvic physiotherapy.
-
We can lodge an ACC claim and treat birth-related injuries, for births after October 2022, including:
• Birth-related tears (labial, vaginal, vulval, clitoral, cervical, rectal and perineal tears)
• Levator ani avulsion/tearing of deep pelvic floor muscles.
• Pelvic organ prolapse (bladder, bowel, cervix).
• Coccyx and pubic rami fracture.

The female body undergoes momentous change during pregnancy. Some of these changes can negatively impact the abdominal wall and pelvic floor. Pelvic physiotherapy can help by giving you an individualised rehabilitation program, both pre and post partum. We recommend a prenatal check at around 20 weeks (after this date is fine too) and a postnatal check at 6-8 weeks post partum.
We also treat other conditions associated with pregnancy - carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, pelvic girdle pain, and other joint/tendon stresses.
-
We see all ages and sizes of women with pelvic health issues. Incontinence (bladder & bowel), prolapse and any pain arising from the pelvis can be effectively treated with pelvic health physiotherapy input.
HANDS ON THERAPY
The benefits of hands-on therapy, including joint mobilisation and manipulation, massage and trigger point therapy, alongside needling therapy (acupuncture and dry needling), is in the short-term pain relief it provides.
Reducing your pain with hands on work is an effective tool to allow you to move with reduced pain, which in turn allows you to improve strength and function.
-
The use of disposable, fine gauge acupuncture needles can help to reduce pain and inflammation, increase muscle activation and reduce pain arising from trigger points or tight bands in muscle. There is no extra charge for this service, and it can be incorporated into your standard physio consults.
-
Hands-on manual therapy mobilisation and manipulation can be hugely beneficial to restore range of motion and reduce pain. Painful or stiff joints typically respond well to this type of therapy, aiming to get your pain under control so that you can progress onto bigger and better things.
-
Tight muscles and trigger points can also inhibit your progress. Massage therapy is an age-old treatment aimed at reducing muscular pain and inducing relaxation in muscles.

Cosmetic acupuncture can improve the texture, tone and appearance of your skin. Fine needles are applied to areas of the face to target wrinkles, fine lines, scarring and pigmentation. Cosmetic acupuncture has been shown to reduce inflammation and improve collagen production.
